Well one must think either it is something positive or negative. This is not just a normal word that people use in their everyday lives or a word used to describe someone. Manipulation is a powerful tool that is used to destroy one's life by misusing or taking benefits. Psychological manipulation is defined as indirectly taking advantage of someone to fulfil their own needs, desires or expectations. A person plays a role of victim and brainwashes and gains trust, self- confidence, self worth and self concept. Psychological manipulation is used as a hidden weapon to play out someone in a negative way that may destroy or hurt them badly. In addition to this, when it comes to attain advantage, manipulators often behave very gently, kind, trustworthy, friendly, lovable and much more. The manipulators show real concern and act in a particular way to build a trust but their real intention is achieving their purpose through their flattery behavior.
Manipulators manipulate and play different roles in different ages such as two faced people, Liars playing a role of victim, making excuses, making a relationship toxic, taking advantage of someone by acting innocent. Many people get manipulated and they are not even aware of it. Telling a lie to get your purpose is a very common type of manipulation. For example: A partner making an excuse of not getting married because he/she has a different intention and is cheating. Another example: Employees lying that they are sick in order to take off from work and attend a friends party, Students lying to their teachers or professors by making an excuse for not submitting the project on time. Moreover, a main manipulation is mostly experienced by young adults/teenagers these days. Nowadays teenagers take and sell drugs in order to make money and fulfil their dreams or desires. This is every parent’s concern today and they however fear to send their children to parties and social gatherings etc.
People, especially teenagers trust, assume and believe other people well. Manipulators use different techniques of manipulation. There are many types of manipulators like someone willing to do anything for you or agrees with everything you would say or someone being very helpful in every manner. Manipulators sometimes make the other person doubt about themselves, they are really good at turning their thoughts around. Behaviors like these make us humans trust easily. However, the best strategy to this is never trust or believe someone until you are 100% have tested their loyalty. In today’s world where psychological manipulation is becoming a routine for people, one must learn how to recognize being manipulated. Recognition of psychological manipulation must be taught to every child or a teenager so these young adults have a better understanding of it.Last but not the least, not everyone in the world today is aware of psychological manipulation. The manipulation technique must be scattered all over in work places, schools, college institutes and even at home so people are well aware of it and know how to handle the situation and overcome manipulation.
